I thought I posted pictures of our kitchen renovations, but perhaps they got lost in the shuffle... In March we were the glad recipients of new linoleum tile for our kitchen area, and new countertops. The renos took a few days, and it was a bit of a mess afterwards, but we're really happy for the results, which are superb for northern standards. Although the flooring and counters might not be my taste, at least they don't feature cigarette burns and knife stabbing marks anymore! So here are some pictures of the kitchen, before and after.
The floor, with its gashes and cigarette burns... They always looked dirty, even when freshly washed.

The countertop, which previous tenants obviously used as a cutting board, or an anger relief mechanism.

The new floor is clean looking, and has a mottled colour which helps disguise the ever present mud, pebbles or wet boot marks a bit better!

The new countertop, with a lovely arrangement the carpenter's helper designed out of my candles and decor.
